Memory Mapping Journal
My current project explores hand drawn maps of journey's I take on a regular basis repeated and stitched together in a handmade journal using mixed media.
Drawing maps from memory involves using the minds eye to recreate a map using internal spatial awareness before tracing that memory of a journey onto the material.
I have retraced the same journey many times in my minds eye, however they are never quite the same when they are transferred out of my head and onto material.
Our perception of space, our surroundings and journey's are our reality. Our memories are our personal reality. However are they still reality if they are not factually correct?
