The elephant sculpture 'Starlight', that I created for the public art event in Northampton, Go Safari, is stood in the foyer of Royal & Derngate until September.
I'd like to direct you to the recent newsletter by Go Safari Northampton:
On the newsletter they have a 'Spotlight on an artist' feature, where they have included a quote from me about my experience working on the project.
"Creating Starlight was a brilliant experience. I really enjoyed putting my design into practice, and working with new materials ensured that I learnt a lot along the way. My design includes rope lighting, that intertwines through the elephant's body. My inspiration came from using light within my own art practice, in my photography, paintings, and film installations. In my recent work I've been looking at nerves, so the lights in Starlight's body resemble nerve connections. Starlight's head design takes inspiration from Indian elephant headdresses and incorporates a star in silver enamel.'
